An election where I was sure that the left wingers of this world at least come that little bit closer to power. How unbelievably wrong I was!

Not only did liberal shit it in but they now have got hold of half the senate and could get control and if they don’t, one seat looks to be going to the family first party, god help us! All decisions to be passed by a party that locks up little kids and sends us to war for no reason and helped over the line by a party who think lesbians should be burned and that muslim mosques, bottle shops and casinos are satan's strongholds. Excellent!! I wonder what the “family” first party have to say about families in detention centres??

John Howard gloated about being personally called and congratulated by two of the world’s most admirable men… Tony Blair and George Bush. Well done Johnny! And George Bush mentioned John Howard in his speech to Iowa saying that our John Howard was a great man and the right man to lead Australia. And don’t you just know that you’ve made the right decision when it’s been endorsed by George W?

WTF is going on here?? Are the people in this country completely retarded??!!

Anyway I changed my address from the Port Adelaide district to the Adelaide district, now being a resident of Wayville (and also a crows supporter) and it seems to have worked a treat with Kate Ellis of Labor winning the seat from Liberal’s Trish Worth. Port Adelaide still remains safely Labor, so a job well done on my part. But I do wonder if the swing was because of Kate’s policies or Kate’s looks? When I think about the way people vote in this country it really wouldn’t surprise me if aesthetics came into play. Before the election I overheard Jon say “Hoh who is this Kate Ellis? I might vote for her!!” although I’m sure it was just a joke. What wasn’t a joke, is that I also talked to another person after the election and he said that he voted for greens cos his friend would get $300 if they won the seat. Not him but his friend. YUP.

I really don’t understand why people don’t take their vote just a little bit more serioulsy than that.
