snippets of an old brunatex interview
How do you think the GST will affect the band?
Fiona: Ask Jon.
Tanya: We haven’t actually got an ABN yet.
Fiona: Jon was a big supporter of the GST at election time. Jon voted Liberal.
Jon (waking from his slumber): Huh? Hey? Oh, come on!
(Much merriment ensues.)
Fiona: We haven’t got a band one.
Jon: We’ll give them a fake number. We’ll call ourselves Boonatex…
Simon: Boonie!
Tanya: …And say we’re just doing it as a hobby…
Jon: …And we’ll be right.
Tanya: Apparently you can claim it [playing gigs] as a hobby.
Fiona (to Simon): Have you got an ABN?
Simon: An A…B…N?
Fiona: Australian Business Number.
Simon: I’ve got an ACN.
Jon: We’ll change the name for a night.
Fiona: We’ve got to do something about it, but we’re just running late.
After much general ribbing for being silent about your band but more than happy to talk about you favourites like augie march, is there anything you want to add Simon?
Simon (looking flustered): There’s nothing for me to say that’s very important. I’ve got nothing important to say. I don’t know. No, I don’t know. I don’t know.
So there you have it. Without a doubt a band to watch, brunatex second EP cut is in stores now thru. MGM Distribution, and they’ll be touring whenever they scrape together enough cash to a) pay the taxman and b) get their shit in order.
