And you thought your job was important...
As a part of quality, it's standard that you do checks on equipment that control the quality of our products, ;ike scales, thermometres etc..
So we have these little stop clocks that we use to time our tests. Every 6 months i have to check that when you set it for an hour it actually is an hour. This entails ringing up the guy that says "at the third stroke it will be blah blah and blah blah seconds beep beep beep" and setting the timer to go on the third stroke, then ringing him back on the hour to see check that the timer also hits the hour and beeps when the 3rd stroke hits.... it really ghey when you forget and the timer beeps and you've forgotten to ring the strokes guy back. You have to repeat the process.
These clocks have not failed that check since 1994, ie as far as the records date back.
