i spotted maybe 2 mild cocks which isn't bad....not to mention g's ex-girlfriend who stares at me frequently. I guess I stare back…ugh competition is such an ugly feeling, I’m planning on not partaking in it next time. Next time.
Anyway the performer on the night, ken stringfellow used my piano which is the main reason i went. The piano sounded really good, he was a really good musician too which made my piano sound a lot better than say, when I play it.
He was pretty funny too, making up a song about wanting to score some drugs in the tune of dancing queen on the spot, and sang it to a girl who he claimed was dressed like agnita from ABBA.
Its amazing to watch someone who just ‘knows’ how to play any given song…without ever having learnt it or played it before but they can, on the spot, know which chord is next.
Without the hilarity I’m reasonably sure I would have been bored tho. I must admit i struggle with solo performers, well not so much solo performers, new buffalo was great! But those who insist on using no back up, just one man and his instrument. buskers on rundle mall always come to mind …And I cant help but sit there and imagine where the bass and drums should enter, but they never do and its just very unsatisfying. Even handclaps provided by the crowd in one song improved the arrangement somewhat..
Yah so that’s it
