Facts
Ok so i did something about it. If anyone wants an interesting fact each day just email nai at his jojati account and you will be added to the facts mailing list...This is a list where you submit and receive interesting facts. Highly recommended for proud geeks.
I've had a lot of interactions with fringe buddies (friends outside "the group") in the last 2 days...I always make an effort with fringe buddies cos they sometimes offer new and interesting endevours and sometimes not. I'd have to say the last 2 days fit into the "sometime's not" category.
sms buddy
i saw g in the mall last night on my way to meet e and g pretended to not see me. Ok so what do you do in that situation? The situation is you are like the best of freinds via sms and you relate well when you are drunk but sober face to face interactions are uncomfortable. Say hello and the conversation might be in dangerous trouble of going nowehere, you could very well end up talking about the weather. Dont say hello and you're a snob. Personally a relationship based purely on sms is foreign territory for me so determined to extend the relationship to a normal and sober face to face interaction. i said hello. g didn't seem impressed that i had made an effort to interact and was very short... it seemed as though in the 2 seconds i had to process the decision i had made the wrong one.... but later he sent me an apology via sms....
that was nice of g and i like really like g but i think it might be safe to say g really likes sms and possibly the next time i am faced with the same situation i should not verbally say hello but send an sms.
excitable buddy
after my rather anitclimactic interaction with g, i met with e. Occasionally i meet up with e, cos e's a good guy but he's just really excited all the time. Not a bad thing just not something you want to be around all the time. At first e was less excitable than usual UNTIL we got back home and we put the crows on. It was as if he had drunk about 3 litres of red cordial... i guess that's ok, it's good to be passionate about something. after the crows lost, e took me to a fancy dress party with his drama friends and everyone seemed to be very theatrical...not very surprising but not something i could relate to. e introduced me to r who was dressed as a piss-weak superhero from late night televions called "night man", he had drawn a red circle on one eye socket and coloured the whole eye socket area in a permanent red marker. visions of r trying to remove the red marker were amusing. r was the most theatrical there and eventually i recognised him from one of e's plays. All i could think was that i had seen this guy i barely know naked on stage. I had to leave, i was there for about 15 minutes. god help me if e ever invites me to a play where he has to strip naked.
buddy to be.. or not
So there is this girl t who is about my age, she's into good music and we have nice short chats when i see her but it's primarily small talk. One night t sent me an sms saying we should catch up for a beer. Now this is a big step in the relationship and could end up similar to the conversation with g, but she seems cool so i said ok and we set a date. on the night she cancelled saying she had the flu, fair enough. One month later (today) i sent her a text to meet me up tonight for one our mutual friend's (h) gig and she said she still had the flu. Is that possible? t might be having second thoughts about tani.
