facebook, modest mouse and culture
if anyone knows who i am and has wondered what has happened to my facebook profile, it's deactivated (most of the time). this is in attempt to get over the biggest, i'll be kind, loser i have ever met. thank you facebook, you are brutal to those in failed relationships (monumental fail at best). no matter how many friends you hide, facebook still finds a way to present you with a weekly reminder of the subject matter, whether it be a photograph of him, off his face, with 'one' of his girls, having a dandy time. or a little message indicating what he'll be doing at 5am on a sunday morning. all i can really do is hope the ugly stick beats the shit out of him soon, or karma comes along and says right it's your turn.
anyway on the subject of facebook deactivation. has anyone actually tried to do this? i'm not sure why i bother, despite (regrettably) not being available for event invitations, there is no fundamental difference between deactivating and logging out. the same amount of effort is required to reactivate as logging in. put in password. reactivate. but of course situations like these were probably well thought out by that pesky jerk face who created this modern social network marvel. mwa ha ha.
i listened to modest mouse today and had the thought if i were a band i'd be modest mouse. what an odd thought, particularly when i don't even think that. after more thought, i settled with modest mouse i really like you, no REALLY, top 10, probably top 5.
and to conclude on a positive, all round sense of accomplishment note: i have successfully achieved one of my two new years resolutions which was to learn to eat with chopsticks. culture is me.
all i have to do now is learn the thriller dance.
